History

Jack Roush and Robert Yates spent decades as rivals in business and racing before deciding to team up in 2004 with Ford’s support. The resulting company, Roush Yates Engines is an alliance of these two racing legends.
The joining of forces has proved to be a winning formula. The awesome power of these two engine builders turned into immediate success with the winning of the 2004 Nextel Cup championship and 19 Nextel Cup race wins in the first year and a half after teaming up.

Assembling some of the world’s best engineers and technicians from both teams in one place played a big part of RYE’s winning strategy.

Roush Yates Engines is proud to produce racing engines for all thirteen Ford Sprint Cup teams. When asked for the key to success, CEO Doug Yates said, “When you only build engines for one or two teams, it’s hard to be the best you can because you only have that many opportunities to race. I’ve always felt that if you put yourself in situations where you’re presented with more opportunities to win, and have your engines in good cars, you’re going to learn a lot and you’re going to learn really fast.”

In a few short years since its founding, RYE has lived up to its legacy for pushing the limits of power and performance today and at the same time, preparing to exceed those limits tomorrow.
